introduction

This course is designed to make you more aware, prepared, and ready for any situation that may occur in your everyday life on any given day.
This course differs from other self defense classes in that they start from the point of attack, where as I teach you about the "Illusion of Safety" and all the elements and tools to avoid the attack altogether.

Each 2 hour class covers the following:

• How to avoid being a target

• How to properly assess your surroundings

• How to react to a confrontation

• How to conduct yourself in a crisis

• How, when, and where to strike if assaulted
• Physical techniques: strikes, defenses, releasing from grabs

The course is taught two ways:
Either set up a private course for your group

[small groups of 6-20 in NYC /large groups of 15 or more-anywhere in the U.S.]
or see the
Upcoming Classes  page for open enrollment classes.

I designed this course to be taken with a friend. I want you to PRACTICE with one another after the course. You should go over techniques and topics in order to stay fresh. Most women, after they take a self defense course, walk away thinking they would be ready and prepared for a situation months after their course; not true. So I want you to be able to practice and test each other constantly...

I have studied 3 styles of karate (Goju-ryu, Kenpo, Jujitsu) in my 21 years with the martial arts. I specialize in in-close fighting, disabling my opponent, and mental strategy. Being the highest ranked student in my dojo and the only woman who has sustained this level, I designed this course with the help from my Sensei George Wells, who is a Martial Arts Hall of Fame Grand Master, for the awareness and protection of women.
